Talented sprinter Ben Rushgrove has been to forced to withdraw from the Games with a foot injury.
Rushgrove, who won silver in the 100m, collected his medal for that event on crutches, and the injury has ended his hopes of a second medal.
ParalympicsGB’s medical team warned the 20-year-old he faced longer term damage if he decided to compete in the second event.
He said: "Beijing has been a great experience and to win a medal in the 100m was fantastic. I am disappointed to not be on the start line for the 200m but the bigger picture is more important.
“I’ll now be concentrating my efforts on getting fit and beginning my preparations for the next major event."
