Great Britain have picked up two golds in the archery competition at Beijing’s Olympic Green Archery Field.
John Stubbs outclassed his Italian opponent in the final of the individual compound open event with a near-perfect display.
Stubbs fired eight maximum tens and four nines to register a score of 116 to Alberto Simonelli’s 111.
“I’m absolutely over the moon, it’s something I’ve only ever dreamed about and now it’s reality,” he said.
In the women’s event, Danielle Brown beat teammate Mel Clarke on her way to winning gold against Chieko Kamiya of Japan.
Clarke went on to win bronze with victory over Turkey’s Gulbin Su in the play-off.
"It was pretty tough knocking my team-mate out but you just have to go out and shoot," said Brown.
Britain have a chance for another gold tomorrow (Sunday) when John Cavanagh competes in the W1 individual compound event.
The team competitions are on Monday.
