Airdeny Chalets
Airdeny Chalets is a small chalet park with seven chalets and is to be found less than a mile from Taynuilt and 12 miles from Oban, in a quiet unspoilt glen, with spectacular views of Ben Cruachan (3650ft) and Glen Etive. The chalets are situated in 3.5 acres, which has its own bluebell wood and a myriad of wildlife. Roe deer, otters, red squirrels, buzzards, woodpeckers and many other wild birds enjoy the peaceful, natural habitat. The chalets each enjoy their own privacy, have their own parking area next to the chalet and there is plenty of space for children to run around in a safe environment. An added bonus is that the chalet park is a ‘midge free zone’!
Muckairn is one of our four star 3 bedroom chalets which was purpose built for wheelchair assisted access. It has a double bedroom with an ensuite wet-shower and 2 twin bedrooms which share a bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The living room is open plan with French windows opening on to a deck with views of Ben Cruachan. The kitchen is well fitted and kitted out, including a dishwasher. Other facilities include a drying cupboard for those wet days and there is a TV with Sky FreeView, a DVD player and a CD player.
During the season fresh organic produce is available from the vegetable garden and home cooked meals can be delivered to your chalet by Clare, a local chef. You can also order groceries from our village store, who will deliver them to your chalet ready for your arrival. A freshly baked cake awaits you on arrival.
The chalet park is under the personal supervision of the owner who is resident on site and endeavours to make your stay an enjoyable one. She ensures that the chalets are maintained to the highest housekeeping standards. The chalets were given a silver award last year for Green Tourism.
Oban is only 20 minutes drive away and is the port for ferries to Mull, Iona and the other isles of the Inner Hebrides. There are excellent shops and first class restaurants. There is plenty so see and do in the area, or maybe you just want to relax enjoy the peace and quiet, the beautiful countryside and the magnificent views. Whichever it is, Airdeny is the perfect place to do it.
