Devon - Creedy Manor

Creedy Manor Self Catering cottage apartments
Crediton, Devon EX17 4AB
www.creedymanor.com

Victorian stone manor farmhouse containing 4 cottage style apartments
Three apartments ground floor one of which is wheelchair accessible
Rural position, ½ mile Crediton town, 7 miles Exeter.  Very central Devon

A manor house built for a rich corn merchant in 1780, this abode was once home to ancestors of Sir Frances Chichester.  Now owned and personally run by the Turner family the accommodation has a modern, very comfortable feel but still retains many of the original features with an emphasis on warm hospitality.

The mixed farm now just houses our small flock of pedigree Llewyn sheep during the lambing period (usually the month of February).  The accommodation is usually surrounded by red Devon cattle during the late spring through until October which makes a classic backdrop against our lush green marshes.  We also have some friendly farm cats including Alfie and Toby.

On site we are fortunate to have two estate lakes situated in well established parkland thick with trees and home to a multitude of birds and wildlife.  The lakes are stocked with good sized carp and tench offering excellent coarse fishing. All our guests are welcome to unwind and stroll around the lakes, feed our tame moscovy duck, Dilly, and catch a glimpse of the resident kingfishers. There is virtually level, gravelled pathway around the main lake (disabled anglers may have vehicular access to the bank on request for loading/unloading).

All our accommodation is inspected by Quality in Tourism and has a 4 Stars grading.
Woodstone is designed to be suitable for wheelchairs with it’s spacious wet room (wheel able shower chair and toilet seat raiser and many hand rails).  The main double bedroom has plenty of turning space and the bed can be raised (a hoist / scooter / electric wheelchair can be hired by arrangement locally). The second bedroom has twin beds.

Ample parking adjacent to the manor with designated parking space, unloading bay near entrance with level access.  There is communal garden furniture, charcoal barbecue and a small lawned garden.

There is a good choice of local pubs, many places of interest to visit along with National Trust properties and gardens to see.  Exeter has a recent cosmopolitan feel shopping centre new for 2008,
