The BBC has announced that the screening
date for their upcoming drama The Silence has been put back to ‘after the World
Cup’.
The Silence is a four part thriller featuring Disability Now’s May cover star Genevieve Barr as a young hearing-impaired girl who witnesses a crime. As reported in our most recent issue, the first episode was due to air on Monday 10th May with a further three episodes in following weeks.
But in a surprise announcement, the corporation has pushed transmission back to later in the year.
A BBC spokeswoman said that rescheduling is a regular occurrence in programming and that the drama will air sometime in the summer of 2010. An official start date has yet to be confirmed.
