Caught Out
In soaps:
Good to see love interest focusing on two disabled characters. Mono-occular Mike Tucker (The Archers, Radio 4) has found companionship and culture with Wendy, and Zoe has got a bit of outof- hours attention from GP hunk Sean (Westway, BBC7).
In comedy
Armando Iannucci’s Charm Offensive (Radio 4) was light on charm and heavy on offence. A series of gags from the eponymous host, Phill Jupitus and Jack Dee majored on Gordon Brown’s “glass eye”. According to Big Phill, the PM takes out the prosthesis at Easter and replaces it with a cream egg. Biting satire, guys!
In sport
Laddish Des Kelly (Fighting Talk, Radio Five Live) described Didier Drogba “falling over more times than Heather Mills at a barn dance!”. Five Live’s marketing team thought this so funny that they featured it in trails for the show for a couple of weeks. Interestingly, on the day we enquired about it, the trail was pulled. Result!
